I see nothing "wrong" or "weird" about it.

I always butter the bread on the outside when making a grilled cheese sandwich.

Hasn't occured to me to use butter instead of mayo for other sandwiches but I have Kewpie Mayo saved to my cart on AMZA for purchase. 😉
