The very notion that a Republican victory in a midterm election (a routine event under Dem presidents) may accelerate the end of US democracy confirms just how far US democracy has already slid. One party has become the party of #ethnonationalist #authoritarianism and there is no realistic path for the damage to be undone. If it’s not this election, it will be the next. We’re living in an era of runaway #radicalization.
