It’s a strange hobby, but I find myself studying how lead became last century’s ubiquitous fuel additive.

There are several parallels that can be drawn between #tetraethyllead in ⛽️ then, and #AI in society now.

One estimate is that every year, leaded fuel bans save more than 1.2 million lives and $2.4 trillion in healthcare expenses and other costs.

But was/is #LeadedFuel all bad? Arguably not quite.

After all, #Ethyl did add horsepower to civilisation.
