Not a lot of new information after today's visit. He does have #Nystagmus, #Pendular 2-3 Hz. Too young to r/o #FovealHypoplasia (can be caused by #Albinism), back for another evaluation in 5 months. Discussed possible #GeneticTesting. Kind of playing the waiting game to fully understand #Etiology & potential treatment.

#MentalHealth diagnostic specificity

Many symptoms overlap. Anxiety is co-occurs with depression & vice versa. Physical #pain freq creates #depression & #anxiety.
Clinically plausible diagnoses include #etiology showing how they developed. Frustrating to see "backwards reasoning" where Sx that "could be" #trauma cause clinicians to search thru pt history to find things that can be interpreted as causing. Especially re #PTSD. Makes me quarrel with #TraumaInformed practice in many situations.

We know how long it takes a photon created by nuclear fusion in the Sun’s core to escape and reach Earth, but we don’t know how endometriosis forms in a human body.
