@Veza85UE there are many changes still going to happen in the composition of #EUCO till next year (elections in #Spain, #Poland, #Luxembourg all with potencial changes in power), I think a liberal president is not so unlikely as it used to be. And could be the consensus solution between #EPP and the left.

Yeah, I do think that would be a downgrade but if she doesn't get assured support to go on on the #commission she might take the #NATO job, that would be a smoother exit for her.

Of course this is not necessarily the end of his membership of #EUCO, he could for example become the next president of the commission if #vonderLeyen does go to #NATO.

In that case #Rutte gets a good chance at the commission. And maybe that's his plan, as anyway he will go on as PM for a year, the timing is perfect for the jump to #Brussels. 🤔

By the way, this reduces the chances of #Costa getting the presidency of #EUCO if the parity idea is to go on.

It's strange to see the departure of #Rutte. As far as I understood that was not on the table less than 24h ago. He's the second oldest #EUCO member (the oldest being Viktor #Orban 💀). A new era for Dutch politics ahead.
