@aliettedb At #eurocon2023 there was a discussions about sapphic in contemporary SF literature and your name popped up more than once, I understand why đ (there was also a panel on tea, that I missed, but I presume you was mentioned there too)
1. At one #Eurocon2023 panel I was on I called out Sweden's irresponsible, lax COVID response. I stand by what I said even if it made some people uncomfy
2. I am glad the weirdo who followed me around for a day waving cherry-picked "proof" that not masking & keeping schools open was Good, Actually, has stopped. I knew it was a risk. It just makes it all the more important I said something
3. A SF writer who makes you feel good about the society you live in isn't doing their job
A bit of a star of the con, I must say, was Sarah Underwood. Such a charming enthusiasm is invigorating to listen to. Her book instantly jumped up to the top of my TBR (that is about 680 positions). The interview-something my friend of old expertly led at the English Bookshop was certainly one of the high points. #eurocon2023
Further on, I got enamoured by Johan Egerkrans and Jean BĂŒrlesk at panel debates, their engagement with the topic at hand felt inspiring and interesting. Would love to listen and actually discuss with both.
Which leads me to the one and only downside of the âcon, the panel format do not suite me that well. Realise I have a problem listening in to a debate without being able to take part. Especially when I have a fact that adds to it. Deeply frustrating, but probably good for me.

I loved to listen to @marthawells and hear her thoughts on writing and stuff in general (and details such as she is a Pathfinder player). And that there is plans for more MURDERBOT (observe that it is auto-correct that puts in upper case).
Also the most present but absent person was @aliettedb whoâs name popped up in more panels than not, all accompanied with acclaims of her greatness.
#eurocon2023
And that was the end. The con isnât quite finished yet, but Iâm off to other goblin things (was tripped booked today, why the frakk do everything need to happen the same day?)
There will follow more thoughts #eurocon2023
Found family panel - Martha is outed as a Pathfinder player đ
#eurocon2023
Last day of #eurocon2023 and now it will be a panel about the Swedish rpg âwonderâ.
Giving up early today, the last few sessions felt not engaging and the two last ones hadnât any topics I really felt for. Are suuuper tired and grumpy.
#eurocon2023
Caught the tail lend of the Egerkrans interview, fun stuff, but now it is time for Babs Yaga!
#eurocon2023
Second #eurocon2023 panel - Short story series - done. Smaller audience, smaller room, but we had a good discussion and people seemed to enjoy it.
My last panel of this con is in three hours, and entails something I've never done before: participating in a panel in Swedish.
Time for a panel gushing about Xianxia âŠ
And then I need to take a break and refuel.
#eurocon2023
Time for a panel on âfamilies in the futureâ.
And yes I starts to get hungry and sleepy = grumpy
#eurocon2023
Time for panel âFeminist retelling of fairytalesâ. With my new favourites Sarah Underwood and Jean BĂŒrlesk.
It will be interesting to see if Jean can avoid to name drop Alliette dB this time.
#eurocon2023
Finally on my way to #eurocon2023! Work and life colluded to make me miss the first half, but Iâll try to make up for it today and tomorrow.
Sooo, third day coming up. So far interesting panels and some good fan flailing.
Added a couple of authors to the TBR pile and removed a distinctly unpleasant one. I mean I couldnât read their books now without associating the feeling after my live encounter with them.
#eurocon2023
An fantastic event with Martha and Sarah! Very cozy!
