That’s a wrap for the official full dry-run of our first System Test of the #Europa #Clipper mission! This test lasted one week, had the team work around the clock, to simulate the Launch, Cruise, Jupiter Orbit Insertion and Science Tour near Europa!

After years of work to design, build, and run tests, engineers and scientists at the Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory (APL) recently bid farewell to the Europa Imaging System (EIS) Narrow-Angle Camera (NAC) for NASA’s #EuropaClipper mission: https://europa.nasa.gov/mission-updates/87/europa-imaging-system-narrow-angle-camera-delivered-to-jpl/ - the instrument departed APL’s campus in Laurel, Maryland, on March 31 for a cross-country trip to NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) in Southern California where the instrument arrived safely on April 3.

Thursday, a rocket is set to take off called the Jupiter Icy Moons Explorer, or #JUICE, which will touch the ground on #Jupiter’s moons in 8 years if all goes according to plan. The largest planet in the solar system, Jupiter, has dozens of moons. Three of them – #Europa, #Callisto, and #Ganymede are covered in water. Where there is water, there may be life. JUICE and a second mission led by #NASA called #EuropaClipper hope to shed light on these watery worlds. #ESA
