#Latvia's greenhouse gas (#GHG) emissions rose by 7.5% in Q1/2023, compared to the same period of 2022, according to #Eurostat data. The increase was the second highest in the EU.

#Beer production in the #Baltic States fell in 2022, #Eurostat reported. Breweries in #Lithuania produced 329 million litres of beer in 2022, which was down from 334 million litres in 2021. Beer production in #Estonia amounted to 134 (145) million litres and in #Latvia to 85 (76) million litres.

Just over 16% of Latvia's potential labour force is not part of the working population, compared to 15.4% in Lithuania and 12.3% in Estonia. The EU average is 18.2%.
