How absolutely fucking ridiculous!
Delaying doesn't _save_ money, it costs MORE!
The lines all need to be built as originally planned in order to reduce emissions and increase the availability of services and freight routes.
Not opening #Euston means overloading access to Old Oak Common - and people won't do their journey as two trips anyway. Plus #HS2 only makes money once it is running. Delaying construction means delaying income.
The Tories transport policy sux.

The gamble in today's train roulette failed.

After my planned train failed at Apsley, it was then a toss-up whether to get the slower #LondonOverground or wait it see if the next #LNWR actually stopped. On the slower train which is arriving at #Euston 4 mins after the faster one which did stop in the end!

Maybe someone with some understanding of #railway can explain the logic of this. The #avantiWestCoast 1653 out of #Euston is set-down only at #Rugby, except on Fridays. I was on the train today getting off at Rugby, it was pretty empty yet staff were telling people not to board it. Similar two hours later and also some services at Stafford. A direct Rugby-Manchester service would be pretty useful, I can't for the life of me work out why this restriction exists (but not on Friday). #trains

Left #Euston on a fast #avantiWestCoast #train heading to #Manchester. There are 10 people in our carriage. My wife did the same train a couple of weeks ago and said the same thing happened. Where is everyone?
