I am currently making a lot of #cardboard squares for the #internetOfSquares. The #quest I will go on with them is on #southBroadway between #evans and #alameda in #denver.I do not know the most effective way to deploy these squares. Kanadas Waldbrände haben einen weiteren #Rekord gebrochen - dieses Mal bei den hitzeverursachenden #Treibhausgasemissionen.

In diesem Jahr hat der #Klimawandel dazu geführt, dass #Kanada die schwerste Waldbrandsaison aller Zeiten erlebt hat. Die Waldbrände in Kanada haben bereits mehr als das Doppelte der bisherigen jährlichen Rekordmenge an Emissionen freigesetzt.

Greg #Evans, Experte für #Luftverschmutzung und und öffentliche Gesundheit an der Universität von #Toronto sagte, dass die #Emissionen eine "Rückkopplungsschleife" schaffen.

"Die zusätzliche Freisetzung von #Kohlendioxid führt zu einer zusätzlichen #Erwärmung, die wiederum zu zusätzlicher #Trockenheit und weiteren Waldbränden führt", so Evans.

Die verheerenden #Waldbrände haben in diesem Jahr bisher rund 30 Millionen Hektar Land verbrannt und damit eine Fläche von der Größe #Kuba​s oder #Südkorea​s verbrannt.

Enorme Rauchschwaden haben die Luft in Kanada und den benachbarten Vereinigten Staaten zum Ersticken gebracht. Mehr als 100 Millionen Menschen sind davon betroffen, und zeitweise kam es zu #Flugausfälle​n und der #Absage von #Veranstaltungen im Freien.

Neben der Erwärmung des #Planeten haben die Emissionen von Waldbränden auch Auswirkungen auf die menschliche #Gesundheit. Evans sagte, dass Waldbrände die Menschen anfälliger für #Asthmaanfälle oder #Herzinfarkte machen. Er fügte hinzu, dass eine langfristige #Exposition gegenüber dem #Rauch die Menschen auch in Zeiten schlechter #Luftqualität in der Zukunft anfälliger machen kann.

Evans fügte hinzu, dass Emissionen, wie die den Planeten erwärmenden Gase dieser Waldbrände, *40* Jahre lang in der #Atmosphäre verbleiben.

"Es ist so wichtig, jetzt Maßnahmen zu ergreifen, um die Situation zu ändern", sagte Evans. "Dies ist etwas, das unsere Enkelkinder erben werden. Es ist nicht so, dass wir es einfach abstellen können und alles wird besser".
