30/04/2023 - Evening walk to Hill of Goauch. Plodding away visiting local hills after sunset. Mild this evening and some nice sunshine on the way up. Had to dodge a few cows there and back but they looked friendly enough. Walk over to the trig on Scotly after for a sit, brew and some stars.

Night has gone now until Aug 13th. Just Twilight walking for the next 3 months after sunset.

29/04/2023 - Evening walk to Bennachie. Started at Donview, quiet road walk to My Lord's Throat then up the hill to Black Hill trig. Tea at Hermit Seat. A plod to Oxen Craig and then the Gordon Way down to start the climb to Millstone Hill. Dark by the time we got there. The walk from here back to the start is short but a lot of down, knees were feeling it by the end. A really nice walk, we saw no one on the hills. Cloudy so no stars but dry. Back home round midnight.

28/04/2023 - The weekend is here at last. Weather forecast looks so-so. Very cloudy but hopefully dry. We started the long weekend with a visit to Bennachie. It was quiet, just us and the hill this evening. Chilly wind on top. We hid away and had our tea. Felt a bit strange it not being dark yet at this time after the long dark nights of winter. On the path were 100s, maybe 1000s of Magpie moth caterpillars, amazing little things but it did make the walk up tricky.

21/04/2023 - Evening visit to Mona Gowan. Past sunset by the time we reached the top. It had been 14 during the day but the temperature soon dropped. It was -1 by the end. With the wind chill, the top of the hill felt a lot colder. We tucked in behind the big cairn and had our tea. The sky slowly turned to night and the stars came out. Stayed just over an hour. Slow walk down off the hill in the company of a really nice aurora. Just a magic walk this evening.

19/04/2023 - Cairn-mon-earn. It's been 12 years since our last visit here. This was our first time up after sunset. Quiet this evening. We sat, had a brew and watched the sky slowly turn dark. Really good stars tonight. The Bronze Age cairn at the top is big, 17m in diameter by 3m in height.

18/04/2023 - Walk after tea. It's been a busy few days so felt good to get out and find a bit of quiet. It was a nice twilight this evening.

I went for a walk after dinner. Decided to take my camera since it was a lovely night and I fancies trying to get some wildlife shots.
Saw a deer, got the camera out, batter promptly ran out on me and I forgot to bring a spare 😅
Oh well, it was still a very enjoyable walk in the sun shine, so here is a phone camera photo instead of a lovely deer photo.

16/04/2023 - Evening walk to our local hill. We had our tea sitting under the trees, looking out to the landscape we call home. After a rest we walked to the trigpoint then headed home in the twilight. It was quiet on the hill.

15/04/2023 - Travelling the Spaceways again, Mrs Spaceways is back! So after tea we went for a twilight walk. No stars as it was cloudy. We did get a brief view of Venus. Short clip of a very busy bat we saw. Not the easiest thing to film. These bats are fast!

14/04/2023 - Friday evening walk after tea. It's getting later and later now for the dark. Didn't really need the headtorch until 9:30pm. Still just me but Mrs Spaceways is back tomorrow. It's not been the same, walking the quiet roads without her. Fingers crossed we can go adventuring on Sunday. Time to start travelling the Spaceways again. Photo from my biscuit spot tonight. Betelgeuse on the left, Venus to the right, about one hour past sunset.

11/04/2023 - Evening walk. I went before tea as rain was due later on. A quiet walk along the burn and back. Dipped on the dippers, that's a few times now. Hope they are OK. Soundtrack on the way was a lovely skylark singing, probably my favourite bird song. On the way back it was the sound of yellowhammers calling out to each other. Everyone seemed happy with the day.
