I’ve been working on migrating many thousands of work notes from Evernote and into Notion. So far it’s been pretty good, aside from some tags going screwy and losing some minor text formatting. But now I’m also realizing I should have made one single database for a given product instead of two separate ones (active/inactive). The active state should be another property in one single db.

When I got rid of #Evernote, I tried both #Joplin and #Obsidian.

Joplin worked easily for notes exported from Evernote but not PDFs.

Obsidian is awesome for all my PDFs in subfolders.

But now I have notes and PDFs on the same topic in different places. I really dislike Joplin renaming files and the messy storage. But when I move some notes over to Obsidian, those with photos are broken. Hmm.

Has anyone found a useful tool to explore an exported #evernote archive? I finally got off the platform and exported all my folders and their notes. It had been my #bookingmarking tool for 10+years so there is a lot! Even after some drastic pruning there are about 5175 notes and over 8gbs of stuff. I have all manner of things tucked in there and attached to notes. I wrote some simple javascript that creates an index.html page for the archive (lists all the notes by section) - can share if wanted

@nelsonshine I just learned Obsidian published an official plugin last month called Importer. Which converts notes from different formats to Markdown.

First conversion format they created was .enex for Evernote.

UpNote handles offline editing so well too. That was one of my major issues. I'm often in planes or far from Internet access and most apps (including evernote now) melt down without chatting to the server first.

Can't believe that for the cost of one year on Evernote you can get a lifetime subscription to UpNote instead!

Just amazes me how well UpNote works given how much of a balls-up Evernote made of their own product.

It's so fast. So effective. So nimble. So many features. It aint perfect, but it's pretty close!
