"Paint Box with Nude Study," Helena de Kay, c. 1871

I love this, a great example of how a simple object can be great art. I don't think de Kay meant for this to be art; I get the feeling she simply did this as an idle study while at one of her classes. BUT...the end result is both beautiful and delightful.
