Until now, the only cars that could only use Tesla chargers were Teslas and, since there still aren't enough public chargers available and since most EVs still cannot use Tesla chargers, I seriously doubt that expanding the potential use of Tesla chargers to non-Tesla owners/lessees will have any significant effect on the contruction of additional public chargers for general use by for-profit companies like ChargePoint, EvGo, Blink & others.

I have no interest in supporting a Musk owned business either but I don't think you're supporting Musk if you buy/lease an EV that is capable of using a Tesla charger.

Just seems fair to me that non-Tesla owners should be able to use Tesla chargers (if they choose to do so), given that Tesla owners have always been able to use public chargers (with an adapter) and too often seem to be bogarting public chargers instead of using Teslas, even when Tesla chargers are available close by.

More broadly, the ability to use Tesla chargers is important to those who are "range insecure" by providing more charging alternatives and may be essential to those to find themself needing a charge where no other alternative is available.
