I've just found out 24 Nov was Evolution Day (I'm a day late), so in celebration of the first publication of Darwin's Origin of Species, I thought I'd post this, not very good, image. It was taken from Darwin's childhood garden in Shrewsbury looking down the bank of the River Severn. Darwin would certainly have walked this path many times. The site is not currently open to the public and I'm grateful to Shropshire Wildlife Trust for the opportunity to visit. #EvolutionDay #Nature #photography

#EvolutionDay - a celebration to commemorate the anniversary of the initial publication of "On the Origin of Species" by Charles Darwin on 24 November 1859.
Today is the anniversary of the publication of Darwinβs Origin of Species in 1859. Maybe #EvolutionDay can be an occasion for people of faith to give thanks for all engaged in science research & education? And to foster grown-up conversations between scientists & theologians?
#OnThisDay Lucy (Australopithecus), most complete early human skeleton, was discovered (1974).
