Happy to announce my new preprint!! done by a talented colleague in which I am the second author. She aimed to find #DNAmethylation marks associated with #BMI in #pregnancy. She managed to replicate many CpG sites!! . Furthermore it was a multi-ancestry study, including both European and South Asian women. Therefore this increases the generalisability of the results.

The study consisted in a cross-ancestry #EWAS, in which we included both European and South Asian woman. This is really important, because EWAS lack of diversity. Hence, by included both #ancestry groups, we increased the generalizability of the results. We identified six CpG sites inversely associated with insulin resistance across ancestry, whereof five were replicated in independent cohorts (cg02988288, cg19693031, and cg26974062 in TXNIP, cg06690548 in SLC7A11, cg04861640 in ZSCAN26).
