I’m nearly 51, i’ve been nearly 20 years and I’m just not interested in fast running. I have no need to prove anything, no desire to push myself to my limits, i have not one competitive bone in my body … and all these benefits of moderate moderation means a) no is ever a disappointment, b) I never get injured (apart from once grazing my palms slipping on gravel), and c) i stay forever youthful 😉😅

Figurative and literal treadmill.

7.6 miles 60 minutes with a 5 minute walk warm-up:

5 minute ramp up from 6.9 (nice) to 7.5 for a while.

5x intervals of 2 mins at 8.5, 2 min recovery at 7.5.

Cool down at 7.2 for a couple mins, finish with 10 mins at 7.5.

Way more fidgety that just feeling it out running outside lol.

1/ at the ! Went to the on , MA yesterday to first relax, then go open ocean for fun and . Watched this ominous storm move by us for a couple of hours. Before the , the wind began shifting dramatically (bringing the rain clouds toward us). A driving rain began partway into my swim and I finished in the rain— no problem, already wet!

Coyote Creek Trail, a nice 18 mile paved bike path in the southern portion of the San Jose CA area and just a bit north of Morgan Hill. We rode the trail out and back yesterday for an easy and mostly flat 36 miles. It's a pretty trail along the creek and worth exploring.

Decided to start taking my back by force. This morning I did 50 push ups, 5 pull ups, 30 mins of , and a #30 min walk while reading Lost Tribe of the .

For context working out usually makes me feel miserable and ruins my digestion for the next day or 2. Doing okay so far. I think the yoga helps. Starting a now.

It's nice to be again, even If my focus is all over the place.

A friend recommended this book and the associated website Feisty Menopause feistymenopause.com/ a few months ago and I'm changing a lot of my eating and exercise habits because of what I'm learning about diet and exercise in menopause. I'm starting to eat a lot more protein and also starting to lift weights to help with retaining muscle strength. Did a long bike ride today and feel stronger. It's crazy to me doctors don't seem to know anything about this.

Stationary bike for 5 mins while I graciously waited for the treadmill. Did 5 minutes of a warmup ramping up from 6.5//10km/h to 7.5//12km/h. Then did an hour of 5:00 kms. Gotta do some mental math to pass the time.

I am sort of grateful that I work on the 11th floor, so that I can get some exercise every restroom break as I am sitting at my desk all day😉

It’s been 8 days since last time I fly fished – rain is forecast towards the weekend. I might do fly tying instead…but additional sitting is not helping me. I can buy flies to save time, but I can’t buy fishing activity to save time… hopefully, I get to fish this weekend😉
