Gonna head off to the lab this morning to get the blood drawn to check my fasting levels of the fat solubles, vit A, D, E, and K. I have been supplementing D, but not the others. But with a diagnosis of EPI, it's a good idea to check fat-soluble vitamin levels especially before starting PERT though I have now for a week been using otc supplements to see if they help me

They seem to. I've hardly farted this week, seems a good sign that digestion is better.

I'm learning something new. It seems that in recent years, a third classification group has come into being, type 3c which has 3 major criteria to differentiate it from type 1 -- presence of exocrine pancreatic insufficiency, pathological imaging of pancreas, and an absence of autoimmune antibodies found in type 1 diabetics.

I don't have pathological imaging, but it may have been missed on both the ultrasound and mri...
