oven fresh take, but a LOT of what we have right now in pagan, witchy and polytheist spaces looks exactly like how mystery cults were back in ancient times. Gnosticism, focus on the individual, mentorship through a God or other divine beings, focus on esotericism and personal growth as "part of the path" (I don't like this symbolism btw. You don't "choose a path", you take the pave stones from each path and build your own.)
