The rural hospital in this article in Mississippi, a state that has NOT expanded Medicaid.
Medicaid expansion saves a lot of rural hospitals-& therefore save lives.

I talked a bit about Community yesterday (or at least I intended to).

One important aspect of community that I failed to mention, but that is critical for the community, is the legal right to and accessibility of community care.

The deinstitutionalization movement in the United States has a long history, but in 2022 many states (including my home state of North Carolina) still fails to fully carry out it's obligations from the 1999 Olmstead decision.

Deinstitutionalization and access to community services is a right under the ADA, and some states need to do a much better job at providing community services to people across the range of conditions, including people with mental health and developmental disabilities.
