The funny thing about Malaysians is that we are so used to thinking our country sucks that when say otherwise we think they have an ulterior motive and are trying to butter us up 😆

I've lived a couple of years abroad and have travelled extensively. I have come to realise every country has its problems. We in Malaysia, for one, take for granted our relative peace from conflict and natural disasters.

And no guns is also great 😆

My family likes to eat durian with rice soaked in santan (coconut milk). I have failed my Peranakan heritage by hating the idea of rice + santan, insists my mum.

It's OK, I am a purist - I prefer my durian untouched by anything but my hands 🤭

Throwback #MakanApaToday because it's very stormy and can't get out much. This was our first meal in Penang: Lontong ( #Malaysia ) and Chicken Shapale with Yak Yak fries (Tibet). The nice Tibetan gentleman who owned the stall said he worked with Filipinos in Greece so he knew a couple of words (Kumusta Ka!)

I adored this #dance when it came out. It is called "Nambuyunan" and it is inspired the movement of birds with deep roots in #Sabah's Murut community. This was performed by primary's school students - they are so talented! They won the no. 1 prize in the 2019 Dance Cup.

Ps: I wish #Malaysian dances arent always in potato quality videos 😅

"You all look alike" may not be politically correct but let's admit it, it's kinda true, especially in the East Asian region. In this video everyone had a challenging time telling which country they belong to. It is sort of like, how do you tell an Italian from A German or Frenchman?

The band Keubitbit hails from #Indonesia and is known for Aceh Ethnic Music. In 2020, Keubitbit won the Ami Awards as the best world music production work for the song "Saban Sabee."
