This highlights how we all need to be super informed about our health and bodies and to become 'expert patients'. As we lumber towards a probable insurance based private healthcare system in the UK, it is even more important to know your onions - or your breasts, ovaries, testes etc. as profit driven models will only look for what you've paid them to look for.
