I tried the first episode of Extrapolations (basically a climate change themed Black Mirror like series) but was really put off by how cartoonishly evil some of the characters were. I half expected Captain Planet to appear at some points.

It was the sort of characterization I’d expect from awful Christian movies like ‘Left Behind’ and ‘God’s Not Dead’. I couldn’t take it seriously.

Maybe the following episodes are better.

What we cannot do is repeat and replay a memory over and over again. Maybe we get the chance to keep our memories on expensive cloud-based devices in the furure to repeat and replay them so they cannot fade and people must not accept the fate of their memories and have to leave them in the past. That kind of triggered me in '2066: Lola' of #Extrapolations or in 'The entire history of you' of #BlackMirror.

#Extrapolations on #AppleTV has a horrible storyline and all the characters seem to be forced. If you want a realistic story which addresses the climate migration from the Middle East to Europe, you should not look at a fictional and whitewashed Israel and a fictional half ass empathy driven Palestine but Syria and North Africa. Climate migration is already happening. The main cause of the war in Syria was water shortages and agricultural grievances.

I liked the episode with Forest Whitaker most. The end of the season was not convincing. Partly with lengths, but also an exciting series about climate change. #extrapolations

In #Extrapolations, rich people experience climate change as they will probably actually experience it in the near future: in large, air-conditioned flats where the heat and forest fires can be easily endured. Just as the audience on Apple+ will probably experience it.🤪

Finished with #extrapolations. The story was so so. Kinda felt flat near the end without too much creativity. Although,the finale did tie up the series nicely.
