Eyewitness accounts require verification by other eyewitnesses to give them some truth-value in journalism.

That is because eyewitnesses often interpret what they see through their value and belief mentality as well as colouring it with their perceptual, ideological and psychological biases. This influences their understanding and what they report as truth.

It is ironic that courts give them so much credibility.

See what I mean? If you read US Twitter, the platform is going to fall offline tomorrow. But the brands haven’t left yet presumably because the user base is still huge and there’s a disconnect between user experiences.
