Switched back from #f2fs to #ext4 yesterday on my #arch laptop because I started to get regular problems with #grub. looking better now, not sure if I need to be scared or not. S.M.A.R.T. test was OK

Argh, I have many workstation boxes using #f2fs and have for a while. Apparently, it doesn't play nice with #systemd (floods the logs with mount errors and other garbage). Also, Wireshark (extended FS attributes, as they are lacking with f2fs).

To be realistic. Everyone who said that #BTRFS isnt that slow, never used #f2fs or even #ext4.
Even on a NVMe BTRFS is absolutely noticable slower, to the point where I'm annoyed.

@federico3 Interestingly I was just looking into #F2FS for use on #RaspberryPi! Seems it would be a nice fit for #MicroSD roots. Or even other modern SSDs where #ZFS isn't suitable.

I've been using f2fs on pretty much all my machines for years and have nothing but good things to say, honestly, a bit of an underrated filesystem in my opinion.

spend yesterday on implementing #f2fs filesystem support for @postmarketOS . Some bits still missing, but with minimal manual change to initrd, it booted.

I hope good F2FS design payoffs with better performance and storage longevity than with classic #ext4 ...
We will see after first benchmarks.

Hmmm still not sure if sure if I should stick to #ext4 other options are #F2FS and #btrfs ... hmmm #filesystems are kind of nitty gritty
