It's actually the responsibility of both user and host I believe to choose what links they give and take. What people push or what people accept are two different happenings.

List of reasons to support title of post.

This is interesting for me because sometimes IT DOES NEED TO BE PERFECT!

i.e. making a half solution is worse than waiting for something near-perfect (and in the is case really 90-100% privacy-perfect)

So while it makes sense to have in between sometimes you do have to solve things right first time otherwise wait!

Students at the #Milwaukee School of Engineering used #Bonfire to develop a federated inventory extension to empower their regional #fablabs ecosystem. We're now helping them integrate with the latest Bonfire functionality (such as boundaries) and release it as an extension.
They plan to use it next year to track the transfer, consumption and production of resources across several schools 🚀

'FREE' people and inventions also have a responsibility to see who is abusing it and basically make provisions / conditions / choose more carefully. Block them from weaponizing

Weaponizing* everything is very real today.

* Weaponizing = the putting of parts / components / code together (much like mechanical parts) and making a gun at the end from those innocent components - the end result of the chain is bad.

So what to do about it?

To start
- Don't under-estimate how well chains are put together or swap things in and out
- Imaging more 'efficient' can mean more destructive / faster at doing the bad / inhuman things. If it exist and work, no need x10 speed every year.

Even with 'Free' stuff / software / service / etc consider them as Free weapons and tools for people to plugin into their own mentality - so it's worth checking even if if you think something new is just great because it's 'new'... Keep a lid on it if really it has 10% good use and x10 bad.

Ask: IS IT WORTH GIVING TO IDIOTS?

Sound$ extreme but it's just like giving part$ to people who you know just make algorithm and monetise people instantly with this years new thing. It's already happening. #AI etc... <--- I don't have list I admit and often I think 'everything is applied to'

Considering top 500 companies (enemies) run on free software and pay near-0 for it as side-insult and don't even care then I think there is ALWAYS a time in history to re-assess adding any more for them or specifically releasing things for us (not U$)

To use it for money should be stipulated conditionally NO or WITH PERMISSION ONLY THEN YOU CAN ALSO GIVE ME A CUT!

Not-for-profit also needs to skill-up and pre-defend things so we don't the shock face after- "oh guess what they did now- I don't believe it!".

Ok so far but from here consider all is just to make massive wrong in the wrong ways...

Business Opportunity for Free Software Lawyers:

- Get money from big companies
- Make liable existing people using FOSS without paying
- Rinse and repeat

Legally force companies using libraries without paying for FOSS... to pay!

WHY?
FOSS libraries used by big companies are now not paid for (near 0 more than paid).
Source code used by big companies are not paid for (near 0?).

Lawyers / FSF people -----> make them accountable

Money-maker for FOSS.

Ma$$ive companies use FOSS and don't pay... enforcing this and making sure they respect terms of download helps the cause out of it's paradox and systemic rape.

If they do not cheat, we will grow (and also not cheat ourselves).

Free is abused? Feeding corporations to make more profit... AND then not paying developers?...

Corporations who use those under them to prop them up?
Seems like a bit of bum deal even without hating I don't get how it works more than what we have already and could stick to more than create new monsters...

I think that's a limitation of FOSS / Open Source though I guess I'm saying also how good corporations are at abusing it at the same time (as well as saying we might know better than to give it to them just like that in a bad process... if you agree).

Clever people also probably have a hard time not doing things the like doing and end up still doing things even when they make little sense (for who it's for or if there is little money in it) and simply can't even keep a lid on it if they see their work being abused if they tried!).

That's where I think we could say we have enough people doing as we have had plenty and look what people did (suck us dry and still expect more)...

It's probably time naturally from seeing diminishing returns / lack of improvement in this to switch areas of us 'digging' there and look at what we're doing and for who... and do something else or more people orientated.

At some point any game is 'enough is enough' and seeing it flanked constantly and used against us by corporations means just leaving them to that game as we can't win (lack of resources, banks yadayadayada) and at least give it a rest for while unless you are actually think you changing people's mentality here (not just releasing tech for corporations to pick up on, patent, remix, repackage etc).
This is why I value GNU as it has at least a kind of philosophy, legal aspect and many more things connected towards a humanitarian endpoint in it's usage (even if that is also abused and maybe is similar to everything else hmm)

I don't want to stop people dead in their tracks or try to show all progress as being bad... but well it is actually possible that is the case.
In bad hands well, you can imagine all goes wrong... so ask if corporations and governments are doing well scandal after scandal... and paying the right people?
Fuck it don't make me any more free stuff! Just don't give them ammunition please!

I don't claim 1 answer other than fixing / changing people's mentality on how they do things / use it and even the problems working together to develop it... (such as money, person stuff that blows up projects etc)

Computers and code being faster than people BEAT people in many ways (even if you didn't use you plugin that way).
That the main message that currently it's not working out too well considering opposition feeding from us (you, me, them) and not giving a shit apart from profits. The average person DOESN'T UNDERSTAND the shit you do and obviously losing out to the speed and code versus understanding and technology wins (it's your fault AND there's but more your fault if you are more clever in seeing other people are stupid to stop giving average people and corporations hammers to play with!!)... so please help by thinking about that and consider that less is actively doing something to solve that (it is the solution while doing a bit more other stuff) as way of not letting it get out of hand and actually working on the humans that use these things more than great code that gets plugged into guns.
Hard to see but technology as a mechanism is exactly like a gun (or long lines of codes together able to execute as click of a button or flick of a switch).

I can't ignore all that for people playing games more than humanitarian type stuff. It does come back to that and choosing which to invest and bottle time into is important and also a risk / gamble.
