I wonder if there's any search engines where I can easily exclude results from e.g. Twitter, Facebook, Reddit etc.

Restults from those sites are starting to get useless, and I would rather avoid them.

I want to see more results from sites in the Fediverse. Or, you know, *actual websites* which are not at the mercy of commercial entities suddenly wanting to leech on the users content.

I have an idea of how I will finally get rid of the Facebooks/Twitters and not lose memories that are meaningful.

I could use some (to be researched) software that records your screen (and results in a .mp4 or something) and then scroll past the whole timeline.

Having that video would probably provide enough closure to (somehow) hit the deactivate button.

I'm waiting for the #FacebookMigration to start. I wonder what will it take to trigger it, as if Zuckbook hasn't been consistently shown to be a lying, greedy, antisocial goblin already.

It's pretty easy to predict that Friendica will experience even more impact from a sudden influx of FB users than Mastodon has. For sure, lots of new English language, U.S. based servers will have to be set up quickly (elsewhere as well, of course). There are very few and the largest has only 999 members.

Is there any sort of #FacebookMigration to the #fediverse?

It's certainly been interesting to see more early adopters join #Mastodon as part of the #twittermigration, but the real growth would happen if folks start jumping ship from #Facebook.

If that's not what the #Mastodon community wants, that's great. But there's a ton of talk here about #Twitter while Facebook is one of the bigger elephants in the room.

Compte Facebook fermé hier soir. Il y en a qui ont fait la #TwitterMigration. Moi, depuis cet été, je faisais ma petite #FacebookMigration.
Plusieurs mois pour fermer ou transférer ici les pages et groupes que j'administrais, contacter les contacts dont je n'avais pas les coordonnées hors Facebook (je m'étais même fait un modèle de message-type pour les explications sur ma démarche) et faire les choses proprement.
Maintenant c'est fait. Ciao Meta, avec rancune mais sans regret.

My main social media hangout is Facebook, because I like being able to post something and leave, whereas on Twitter it's a real time conversation so you have to be plugged in constantly. But I hate everything FB stands for, AND my FB feed has now been switched to EVERY THIRD POST BEING AN AD.

1/3 of my feed is ads and it's a deal breaker. So I'm going to rebuild my platform here 😊❤️
