In the case of #functional systems such as #economy, #religion, #art and #politics, only #facts are missing. How they are to be #understood is #clear.
In the case of #meaning and #ecology, #decisive #factors are #unclear.

In my opinion #data=#facts. You can’t argue about facts the same way you can’t really argue about the “hard data” (numbers, graphs) in front of you.

What you can argue about is the interpretation of that data, or the different private #information every one of us will extract from the same set of data (facts) in front of us. What information is derived from the data depends on the different #knowledge(s) each one of us has about the world.

I prefer #nonfictionbooks because they offer #real-life stories that can both be educational and entertaining. Non fiction books often provide #factual-information and can be an opportunity to learn about different people, cultures, and events. They can help us to gain a better understanding of the world around us.

TOTALLY REAL AND FACTUAL HISTORY FACT
Scissors were originally pronounced "Skizz-Ors". The name is derived from their function, Skizzing. Skizzing is defined my Maryanne-Websters to be the act of splitting an object with two blades.
Traditionally they were kept in a holster at a tailor's waste. The holster was made of cotton and was called the Skizz-sock.

@anneeroper My hobby horse guess is that defunding of #PublicEducation in the #USA and the defunding of #Factual #History elsewhere (or making it too expensive for ordinary folks to access) has partly led to folks like #Trump getting elected and #Fascist ideas to permeate without enough factual critical-thinking rebuttals...
