Obwohl ich es noch nie gespielt, nicht mal ein einziges Buch dazu gelesen habe, begeistert mich aktuell das Setting von #FadingSuns am meisten.

@SJohnRoss The most "kitchen sink-y" setting I know is #FadingSuns . Pretty much anything seems to fit into this setting!

This Saturday I'll offer my gaming group to GM the latest edition of either #FadingSuns or #Scion . Let's see what the players will pick... #ttrpg

J'ai vu les prix des crowdfundings #fadingsuns [VO](https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/ulissesspiele/fading-suns-pax-alexius/rewards) et maintenant en [VF](https://www.gameontabletop.com/cf877/fading-suns.html) et je me suis dis que c'était un peu chargé tout de même.

J'ai vérifié le prix du livre de base que j'avais acheté chez Multisim : 43€ ! Il y a vingt ans. Je ne me souvenais pas avoir déboursé autant !

Okay, I need some suggestions. Are there any fabled "Lost Cities" in the Middle East that were along the _coast_ (as opposed to lost cities in the desert)?

So it seems I have two weeks to prepare for another #FadingSuns one-shot as the follow-up to my previous one-shot.

Let's see what I can come up with.

Today I finished a three-session one-shot adventure using the latest edition of #FadingSuns .

Our conclusion was that the system worked quite well, and the players enjoyed the ebb and flow of victory points. However, the rulebook could be better organized - more and better page references, and the lack of an index was a problem.

Before I run it again, I will read through the rulebook once more. Now that I have actual play experience, I am sure many things will make more sense.

@mordantcrimson @spezbaby I loved the #FadingSuns RPG setting. I'd need lighter system were I to run it. Maybe #whitehack.

So... for my #FadingSuns One-Shot, I had _prepared_ for the PCs to schmooze their way through social encounters to that they could befriend a noble family until they could get hold of the MacGuffin.

Instead, the leader of the PCs decided to go completely incognito, and turned the adventure into a heist scenario.

But hey, I'm flexible. They managed to sneak into the residence of the noble family, and get the MacGuffin into their hands.

And at just that moment, a _third_ party arrived at the scene, which means that we will start the next session with a three-way gun battle! 😁

I'm Geoff, I'm a middle aged nerd who's mostly into #books, #SciFi, #fantasy, #wargames and #history. I still collect #ttrpg stuff but I burned out on running them a while ago. Huge love for the #RPG's #BluePlanet, #FadingSuns and #Traveller (although last game I ran was #DnD).

Yesterday I ran my first game of #FadingSuns , using the current, fourth edition.

A good time was had by all, and the consensus was that the system works - but it could have been explained better, and the core rules could have been better organized.

Pitchdag i rollespilsgruppen. I slutningen af december, rundede vi D&D kampagnen, og i dag mødtes for at finde den næste kampagne.

@chgowiz Ulisses Spiele, publisher of #TORG, #TDE, #FadingSuns is on board with ORC and actively working with their pre-existing organization of Germany based #TTRPG publishers to ensure that #ORC meets German (and possibly EU) legal standards as well as US. Until probably CR took off, TDE (Das Schwarze Auge DSA in German) was Germany’s (and likely Austria’s as well) most popular TTRPG. It is a very rich setting that is now also in its 5th edition.

The ideas for my #FadingSuns one-shot are slowly coming together.

A replica of the Gargoyle of Nowhere, stolen - valuable more for the family secrets hidden within than its craftsmanship.

Now it has been brought to a minor Li Halan noble's fiefdom on Rampart, by a scion of the family who did not know what he had bought on a market. Can the PCs get it back without revealing its secrets - or causing a diplomatic incident?

@MoonlightBard I think #FadingSuns is basically the best kitchen sink setting out there in the #ttrpg space, and that's no small thing. You can basically take any genre, any adventure, and it will fit _somewhere_ into the setting.

Well, looks like I will be running a #FadingSuns one-shot for my online group - and maybe a campaign for my local, physical group.

#GURPS is the system I think that most people would expect me to play and run - My gaming bookshelf has almost as much GURPS as any other system (Barring #Traveller, #FadingSuns and #DnD5e) but like Father Rudden in Puckoon & Rugby, it'd show how wrong you can be - Through some quirk of fate I've neither run it nor played it, despite loving the material. Flexible, lots of interesting crunch and supplements that are a byword for quality research WNTL :)

@StevetheNPC I DMed #FadingSuns back in high school.

Very versatile setting, you can do pretty much whatever you want. You can have low-tech and high-tech planets coexisting with each other no problem, as well as alien races, many different political systems to play with, solve problems of a single village or decide fate of the galaxy etc.

I especially loved the character creation process. Choosing complications gave you more points to spend while making the backstory more interesting.
