I had some visitors while I was gardening today. A fairy wren watching me from the fence and a blue banded bee enjoying these rather fabulous impatiens. Today's brooch is "Philbert the Fairy Wren", designed and made in Adelaide by Edenki.
Fairy Wrens are a special bird in my family. My Great Aunty Dulcie, the sister my Nana was closest to, absolutely adored them, and I inherited some of her beautifully embroidered linens. Both Nana and Aunty Dulcie planted gardens to attract native birds.

Hearing and seeing the fairy wrens around here is a good sign that there's enough of the trees and cover they like.
