It was nice, but the appearance is very meat-like which I found triggered some (illogical) fear that it might actually be meat, that will put some people off - the texture is also fibrous but I'm told less fibrous than actual meat.
Preparation was easy as I chose not to salt it and leave it for an hour, so just pan sealed it and sliced it before frying the slices again. There's no real flavour so it will need flavoured oil or seasoning, and be aware it spits a *lot* in oil.
If you're triggered by the appearance of meat this isn't for you, personally I'm more used to faux "meats" which are approximations and I've been able to get my head round them, but as these things develop they'll become harder to differentiate and I'm going to have to reconsider how I approach them.

Verdict on the fake meat Simulate brand NUGGS. They were really good! The taste was good, and they reminded me a bit of when I was a kid and not a vegetarian and would eat McDs nuggets. The texture was also good. I made them in the air fryer and they were nice and crispy. Quite satisfying to eat. My only regret is that I didn’t have anything to dip them in! #Vegetarian #FakeMeat #PlantBased

My birthday present from my friend was fake meat vegetarian nuggets. She knows me too well 😂 I’m super excited because I’ve wanted to try these ones for ages, but thought they didn’t have them in Canada!
