Tonight is the "Nit de la Punxà de la flor" 🌸 (Night for piercing #flowers). It is a symbolic event held in Valencia on the night before the Battle of Flowers.

Skilled craftsmen decorate the parade floats by piercing them with natural flowers. This act takes place in the "City of #Fallas Artists" (Ciutat de l'Artista Faller) and is part of a grand celebration that includes a large popular dinner

Nearly midnight in #Valencia, and dozens of little kids are still only just reaching the end of the parade route for the #Fallas #Ofrenda. Still no misbehaviour, no tantrums. Some of them casually giving TV interviews. Valencia trains its sons and daughters well.

Watching the #Ofrena23 procession live from #Fallas, and it's amazing how the kids have spent all day dressed up, walking miles, being told to stop start stop start, and not one of them is crying or tantrumming or scrolling on a phone when they get to the end of the parade route. They must raise kids differently in #Valencia to in the UK, I feel.

Reasons to be glad I'm not in #Valencia for #Fallas this week:
1) First Fallas since everyone properly decided Covid is over
2) #StPatricksDay on a Friday!
3) Climax of Fallas on a weekend

1+2+3=Tooooo many people for shy little loner me.

Got back to my table and noticed there was a bit of lipstick on the glass. Lovely shade of pink, would've gone with my outfit, but standards is standards. Took it back, and the barman gave me a new #pint AND poured the first one into a fresh glass for me. Two #beers for one. Result! Everything's coming up Milhouse! (Yes, I am desperately trying to console myself for not being in #Valencia for #Fallas.)

I was just starting to get back in shape after moving house, holidays, guests, sickness and way too much junk food... and I got this bronchitis-otitis crap.

It's almost gone now, so I'm thinking tomorrow I do a #legday and hopefully I can still walk this weekend during the #Fallas culmination in #Valencia :)

@ithlipsi mi perro está acostumbrado a los petardos de los días de #Fallas, pero aún así, evito siempre que puedo sacarlo a horas punta, mascletàs, y similares, porque no se merece pasarlo mal sin necesidad.
