#TIL: The SentinelOne agent will try to resolve a firewalled domain from the host. Suppose it’s trying to resolve a malicious, sinkholed domain… it’ll fail, and continue to fail every 5 seconds. Now suppose you notice on your PiHole a gazillion requests from your corporate laptop to a malicious domain. You might think you’d been pwned. And apparently the S1 console doesn’t show the DNS requests that its agent is making… which would make the source of the requests hard to find. 😖 #FalseAlarm

Last night felt sick. Nightmares all evening that I was coming down with #Covid and would miss #NYE party. Woke up for #swimming. Took a home test. Negative. After swim felt fine. #FalseAlarm. Yay!

I got excited for a second because I thought ALF was in the #fediverse but it was a post from Animal Liberation Front which I guess is cool too.

As the owner of a #guesthouse I don’t mind equipment failing or needing to be replaced. That’s just part of doing business. But a smoke detector giving a false alarm at 12:45 am and awakening our guests is upsetting.

Will speak to our guests in the AM and see how we can make it up to them and will replace the detector. That said, VERY glad there is no fire.
