Users always have choice. It’s a #falseDichotomy to say control is either with the admin or users. Users can block who they want. Users can also run their own instance & federate with FB if they want, or join an instance that does not protect its users from #surveillanceCapitalism.

This is a solved problem. The solution is not being used, in this case, because, clearly, mastodon.social does want to grow.

We've come to realise that the simple act of just reading the #Murdoch press, even just to know what they ate putting out, is bad. The headlines themselves are an example of #trolling, and combined with imagery create #memes, that can affect a person's #health, cause them to act in odd ways, and divert attention and time from more meaningful endeavours.

Yes we'd say #corporations (and so-called #thinkTanks) will try to trigger #falseDichotomy debates. If the focus is on that, they win.
