Hey #famichiki people how many of you brought pets over to japan? I brought my cat back from there and Im pretty anxious about how to bring him back. Looks like quite the ordeal with the whole no-rabies policy. Any advice?

@pippa @omichan This seems natural. And it seems a somewhat common scenario I see in this #famichiki community. A few people have mentioned having to see away expat friends on the regular. In the 20 years Ive been with a JP company Ive seen this from both ends now. Learning Japanese being a goal of many here it seems natural progression

Attention #Famichiki peeps: Got a question for y'all: I've a friend in Japan who is so tired of being an ALT (both physically & mentally), he's talking about doing something rash.

He says he has no online life. He also has no social life; he lives only for work & it's literally killing him. Being an ALT is all he knows. When I worked with him, he taught me how to do my job better. He also saved my life, but that's another story. I owe him one.

Any ideas of where he can jump to? TIA.

Yesterday I spent the day updating various things on our server. I rewrote, cleaned up, and otherwise updated the #Famichiki About page, the Rules page, and also the Wordpress blog.

It’s more concise and well organized now… I think.

@umamiaf @tokyobybike I’ve been here 35 years and use Japanese almost exclusively in my non #famichiki life, and it’s native level.

I alway get a kick out of young folk being amazed and asking why my Japanese is so good?

Well kid, for one thing, I’ve been using it for much longer than you’ve been alive 🤣

Our @admins account has useful info and I recommend following it to keep up on community news.

Today there is a post on how to financially support #famichiki and news that our finances are now completely transparent which is a #VeryGoodThing™️

Even better, post volume is very low so it won’t annoy you 😘
