It's quite interesting just how deeply the #FamilyCare disaster is buried. There is absolute minimal reporting in most of Portland's media. The alt-weekly rags are busy fapping over gentrifier-adjacent year-end listicles. The Oregonian, well, it's the Oregonian.
Who's doing the real reporting? The friggin Portland Business Journal and health industry periodical The Lund Report.
What can I say, the priorities of the poors don't make headlines.

From CoverOregon through the OHA and #FamilyCare, health care is the single biggest nonstop disaster in #Oregon state politics. It's time to clean house completely.
#FamilyCare shutdown will bring big changes to clients' mental health coverage https://www.bizjournals.com/portland/news/2017/12/28/familycare-shutdown-will-bring-big-changes-to.html
tl;dr if you were getting mental health services in #Oregon through FamilyCare, the state will transfer you to a carrier offering worse coverage for more money.

Also our local NPR affiliate at https://www.opb.org/about/contactus/newsroom/
Our major local newpaper is at oregonlive.com but they are worse than useless about 90% of the time (to the point I literally have them blocked in my hosts file for my own mental health) so I have not bothered with them - anyway, they didn't manage to cut-and-paste a story together til today when shit started going down five days ago, so, if you wanna contact them, go for it. I was done with them years ago.
I just lit up the inboxes of media outlets in #Oregon asking for real coverage on why 120K vulnerable people will lose continuity in #Medicaid, particularly mental health care, during a major drug & homelessness crisis.
People will die because of this. The reporting on it has been a disgrace. Maybe you know somebody in Oregon on #FamilyCare (other than me, I'm on FamilyCare). If so, please ask news@portlandmercury.com amesh@wweek.com jschrag@pamplinmedia.com to do their jobs and report on it.
