What all unpaid family caregivers really need is time and money.
You can dress it up, dance it up, prance it up, chance it up, you can put a bow on it, unzip the fly and blow it, but those are the facts.

One of the things that has hurt my research the most during the pandemic is not being able to really connect with community partners. Not only my favorite thing to do but it's critical to #Community engaged #research. Had fantastic chats with folks running amazing programs for #FamilyCaregivers in #Detroit. Can't wait to build new stuff together.

#Lunch with #Dad 😊
I share caregiving duties for Dad, with my Mom. We will be getting some financial relief with respite community support workers fees, starting in January. That's going to help me not stress out over household finances as much. I currently pay $400-$500/month for respite help to come help 2 days a week for 2-3 hrs each shift.
I manage all medical & financial matters for my parents. Dad's brain injured & Mom's illiterate.
