@rmordecai I wonder why you are not necessarily looking for a genealogy program. #FamilyHistorian does just what you describe. It has an 'Everyone' chart too which can be useful. It holds the data in Gedcom format so it's easy to move about. It's also relatively easy to import a CSV file with your spreadsheet dara. Finally it has a fantastic user/support group - FHUG.

@JeffS @david @genealogy yes, I didn't even mention the plugins. The support is incredible, you only have to ask "couldn't this plugin just do it like this?" and some kind person works out how to do within days, or politely explains why you shouldn't do it ike that! #FamilyHistorian

@sheribush @david @genealogy IMHO Family Historian has always been way ahead of Rootsmagic (7 or 8) and I have tried both. FH7 holds its data in Gedcom format too so your data is not locked away in some proprietary database. Product support from the manufacturers is excellent but the user group FHUG https://www.fhug.org.uk/ is a real bonus. #familyhistorian #rootsmagic #gedcom

@david @genealogy I have been using Family Historian for the last 14 years, runs on my Windows 11 Laptop, doesn’t sync with any online trees such as Ancestry, but can get hints from FindmyPast & My Heritage, I do have a tree on Ancestry, but it’s not as complete as the offline version, mainly there for DNA cousin bait. #genealogy #FamilyHistorian

Last day of Native American heritage month and I found one of my 6th ggrandfathers trail of tears dawes roll. My father and mother were last to hold blood quantum, and my father was registered wolf clan in Tennessee. I'm 100% European now with the blood quantum gone according to my DNA test.
