Here is the FDA report linking Chinese jerkies with Fanconi Like Syndrome, as they have termed it.

Note2 Fanconi is hereditary in the breed. Some of these induced Fanconi like sick pets are using the treatment "Gonto's protocol", which was developed for Fanconi afflicted basenjis.
