@marcan @AsahiLinux AFAIK #Apple does some #PCIe #Switching and likely uses some #PCIe #fanout Switch do provide 16 lanes per slot and 1-2 PCIe roots at 16 or 32 lames each.

Espechally since very, very few isers will be able to saturate all slots but may dynamically load to them...
But I guess only the Service manual for AASPs will provide further details.
