i told a friend about the #Sinimustahallitus #FarRight government, and also told her that the new minister of transport and communications Lulu Ranne is a #climate denialist, who thinks ipcc is political and the whole thing controversial.

she asked "how the heck did that happened", and i answered.

While briefly living in one of #Canada's biggest cities, I saw a leaflet calling for a #CommunityDefenceAction to counter a planned rally by the usual suspects, including the Sons/Soldiers of Odin and other #FarRight extremist groups.

I'd never heard the term prior to that, and happily, the cowards canceled their rally at the last minute, but I'm forever drawn to the power such actions afford people who would otherwise be targets of intimidation and assault by #HateGroups.

@WineScarf @bogolisk as for a broad brush, you first came in my mentions with a statement of "not all #Conservatives are #FarRight" — which I never said, so that's about all I'm going to say on that. My instances aren't about to platform or engage with #SeaLions, #ConvoyClowns, or anyone trying to muddy the waters on what #Marxism is actually about.

I was asked recently by a family member why I take such a rabid stance against the #PPC and now the #ConservativeParty under #Poilievre, and by extension, why I considered myself a socialist in the context of #CanadianPolitics.

My reply was that I was committed to #antifascism because of my morals, but also, more simply:

These people want to kill my friends. #ColoradoSprings is the most recent example.

Any party or person who stands or marches alongside #FarRight extremists is an enemy.

#ColoradoSprings is yet another moment in the ongoing history of far-right violence vs. marginalized communities.

Anyone who considers themselves a decent person must commit themselves to the struggle against the #fascists, the #farRight and anyone who traffics in their rhetoric.

This isn't just a socialist stance. It is the only humane thing you can do for your fellow people.

It depends on each instance admins, and, for example, you could be #banned for a #leftist tooth in a #farRight instance or for the opposite in a leftist instance.
