@evoterra got me thinking about postcards. Years ago when my niece was at music camp that included a tour overseas, I bought a 50-state pack of "Greetings from ..." with vintage art depicting what the state is famous for.
For each one, I sent a quick note relating to that state ... someone famous there at the time, someone famous who lives there, someone not famous but in the news for some reason. I signed them first name only. A guessing game.
