It is not 2 years - they've only till Autumn 2024 - any later would be because they want to delay being chucked out a few months since winter elections lose votes for the party seen to trigger them.

You only have to look at the polls, dark clouds still sweeping over & the lack of talent in the #toriesOut party to know they are in the end game - it would take a major event (more than eg #starmer resigning or the #fatController regaining tory leadership)

The only surprise is that the #UK despite the #fatController poisoning the waters (literally & metaphorically) in office for 3 years the #UK remains ranked as high as 18th (down from 8th)

It means there are considerable additional depths the #toriesOut could plumb, given the opportunity

Any UK leader is constrained - by the need to get elected, by what the #UK can expect others to accept, by what we can afford and in balancing competing interests for limited resources

You can of course ignore all that and promise whatever sounds good - that is what the #fatController did

But that is in part why his govt fell apart like a cheap suit (except of course it cost us billions - as did his successor)
