Dr #FatihBirol of the #IEA acted very laudably when he sat down with four climate activists in Davos last week, calling for urgent conversion to renewables. Yet he is also a tragic figure, having to issue warnings that “the global climate crisis is sliding down the agenda” as his organisation’s latest Oil Market Report shows that “Global oil demand is set to rise by 1.9 mb/d in 2023, to a record 101.7 mb/d.”.
