Het doel is om me comfortabel te voelen bij het achteruit rolschaatsen. Snelheid is (nog) niet belangrijk, ik wil vooral dat het vlot gaat en voelt.

En dat gaat best goed. Vandaag ging in ieder geval al beter dan de vorige keer, dus blijven oefenen en dan kom ik er wel 🥰

Vandaag wilde ik per se dribbles oefenen en dit is mijn vooruitgang op een kwartier tijd.

Het eindresultaat is nog altijd niet zo vlot als het moet zijn, maar dit is letterlijk na slechts 15 minuten oefenen!

This week's fat joy is me at last week's Sequim Lavender Festival! It's one of the highlights of my year. We hit the festival at the fairgrounds, then go berry picking at one of the local farms that opens up for the weekend.

I was super cute in my Maya Kern/Serglesinner peony skirt and green top, too, but forgot to get a photo before I covered up the nice top to protect it and swapped the skirt out for leggings.

Vandaag wilde ik absoluut oefenen op achteruit rolschaatsen, want dat wil ik onder de knie hebben.

Ik vond het echt beangstigend in het begin, omdat het alweer lang geleden was dat ik dat gedaan had. Maar uiteindelijk heb ik mezelf moed kunnen inspreken en ben ik blijven oefenen. Op het einde ging het steeds vlotter, dus die drempel ben ik gelukkig ook weer over!

Nu ga ik dit blijven oefenen tot ik me er comfortabel bij voel. I got this 💪🏻

Vandaag, dag 27, wilde ik opnieuw oefenen om te rolschaatsen op één voet. Dat lukte niet zo geweldig, tot ik door kreeg dat het gemakkelijker is als ik het ene been wat schuin naar achter hou in plaats van vlak naast mijn andere been te houden en dan mijn voet op te heffen.

Beetje moeilijk om uit te leggen zo en je ziet het ook niet heel goed op de video, dus misschien zal ik volgende keer toch maar weer een gewone video maken 😆

Maar: vooruitgang!

Ik heb de indruk dat mijn rechtervoet daarmee minder trekt, maar de wieltjes van deze rolschaatsen gaan helemaal niet zo goed op deze ondergrond.

Volgende keer dus eens de wieltjes van de andere rolschaatsen hierop zetten en kijken wat dat geeft.

Effe terug naar de basics. Gewoon een beetje vooruit rolschaatsen en focussen op het gevoel in mijn voeten.

Ik heb namelijk de indruk dat mijn rechtervoet naar rechts trekt, terwijl mijn linkervoet gewoon vanzelf ‘rechtdoor’ gaat.

Geen idee of dat aan mijn voeten of mijn rolschaatsen ligt, dus daar moet ik de volgende keren extra op blijven letten.

Het was vermoeiend, maar wat is het toch fijn! 😊

I found fat liberation in 1983, so I am roughly forty years in to seeing fat oppression through a political lens and seeking out fat joy. For me, that's always overlapped with my lesbian and queer culuture/experiences. And it's always included joy in food. I reject diet culture, but I am grappling with dietary restrictions. I just made these gorgeous cinnamon, coconut, banana pancakes. They were delicious!

@dianor I have come to a similar conclusion. In my first post here where I shared a picture of myself and spoke about #FatJoy, I initially used a CW but after I thought about it some more it just didn't sit right with me to hide a post about being visible as a fat person
