Checking out Fatmap since it got acquired by Strava. I assume they want to be an AllTrails alternative, but they have so little content in US. The only thing that makes them stand out is the terrain images, but they license that from others.

This acquisition of by feels like a personal attack on me. I had planned to cancel my Strava subscription and subscribe to FATMAP instead. Though the cost is increasing I guess I’ll keep it going since they will open up FATMAP to subscribers. TechCrunch on the acquisition: techcrunch.com/2023/01/24/stra
