"Obscure RPG you've played"

Da wäre z.B. #FearItself, ein Ableger des GUMSHOE-Systems für schlimmen Psycho- und Body-Horror. Oder #TheEndOfTheWorld, ein Endzeit-RPG bei dem man sich selbst spielt. Oder das mit Freunden selbst für ein Event zusammengeschriebene #Cthulhu-LARP in einem Ferienhaus für Jugendgruppen, für das alleine die Herstellung der Props und Kostüme ein Abenteuer war. (Ein paar der Wandbilder zum gelben König liegen noch in meinem Keller.)

@Yohann @pelgranepress I really like the gumshoe system for investigative procedures. What an achievement! I find the mechanics for combat etc. not very exciting though, but this is not the focus of games like #fearitself or #trailiofcthulhu

#RPGaDay2023 Day 8: favouite character.

This one is tough. You can certainly find them on #ThirdFloorWars but there's so many outstanding players that the decision is impossible. I name *Angela* from #FearItself - Invasive procedures: it was role playing at its best. A dark, addict, who hugged a nurse just to steal car keys. Watching the AP is definitely time well spent:

I love #horror ttrpgs. What‘s your favorite #horror game, apart from the biggest (tentacled) fish in the pond (#CallOfCthulhu)?
My choice:
- #TrophyDark for #FolkHorror ish stuff
- #MothershipRPG for blue collar #SciFi horror
- #CthulhuDark bc the way it handles horror as a metaphor for power(lessness) so good and demonstrates that cosmic horror does not need long skill lists
- #FearItself for investigative procedures
- #osr games: low lvl dungeoncrawls = survival horror

@AetherEgo I am into all kinds of horror stuff if it comes to #ttrpgs and movies 🙃 I’m particularly fond of survival horror with/without zombies (#TheDeadAreComing), Alien-esque blue collar sci-fi horror a la #MothershipRPG and #FolkHorror (big Fan of #TrophyDark and #TrophyGoldRPG ). Currently, I‘m reading #LiminalHorror (non lovecraftian cosmic horror, based on #cairn), like to give it try! Horror ttrpgs i like: #FearItself, #CthulhuDark.

¿Qué tipo de historias puedes contar con #FearItself? El manual te sugerirá pequeños cambios para adapta el sistema #GUMSHOE a cuatro estilos de terror diferentes.

1️⃣ Psicodrama surrealista. Piensa en #DavidLynch o en Robert W. Chambers. No sabes lo que es real. No sabes qué parte del horror está en tu mente... ¿Y si el monstruo eres tú?

2️⃣ Slasher: Algo viene a por ti. Algo oscuro e imparable. Os está matando poco a poco, y te preguntas cuánto podrás retrasar lo inevitable. Piensa en Viernes 13 o en Saw.

3️⃣ Horror Cósmico. El estilo lovecraftiano, un clásico en la escena rolera, en el que conocer la verdad sobre lo que te acecha puede ser más peligroso para tu mente que la propia criatura.

4️⃣ Sórdido y descarnado (grim & gritty). La esperanza es escasa y el 'gore', abundante. La victoria es posible, pero a un precio que puede que elijas no pagar. ¿Por ejemplo? #Wamatse, que hace una pareja estupenda con #FearItself
