Here’s a thought on what I think would be an interesting feature for apps or masto website: have the app detect when you are adding hashtags to your profile, and ask you if you’d like to follow some or all of those tags. Would save time for the user and let them know about the follow feature for tags in an organic way.

I think the stupidest #featureidea I am craving for is the ability to "like" back someone's "like", something that feels:

me: posts something witty
someone: 👍 \ ❤️ \ ⭐
me: 😉

Dear #Fediverse #Developers. Would it be possible to automatically extract the picture description from my uploaded file (IPTC Core) so as to save some time in creating the picture descriptions (avoid double work)? With the opportunity to edit it (only preload the description from the respected field in the IPTC). Would be a treat!

A feature that may already exist on @Mastodon (if it does please let me know) is to create lists or tabs or feeds based on servers so I could have an @fosstodon tab and a @Mastodon tab and so on. Server feeds. Which I guess we can do manually with lists as we did on the other place #twittermigration #featureidea

It would feel better though if my own posts would not count as “new updates” for me #featureidea

A feature I'd like to see in Mastodon clients is adding the Note field to the block and mute dialogs, so we could leave ourselves a note right at the time.

I wish there was an option to follow instances, like an inbetween state for the local and federated timelines. So for example I could create myself a timeline stream of all art instances or something~

I wonder if it is possible at all to do an "ephemeral Mastodon"...

...as in, all toots from a particular account (as per account setting) will disappear within 24 hours, no exception...
