Feature Request: wish to request to have the navigation bar auto-hide when you scroll just like how the compose button auto-hides when you scroll

@meredith is it mastodon's decision or just that the majority of users are still using all-lowercase tags?

I would prefer mastodon to show me the tags I've used before on top of the search list, as most of my tags are CamelCase.

Wikipedia has a timed follow feature for its articles for three months, six months, and permanent. After the non-permanent time, you no longer have the article in your watch list.

Mastodon and clients have a timeout feature for muting. After the timeout duration the filtered object returns to visible.

I would love to have a timed follow for hashtags or keywords (phrases) which simply stopped after a select time. Some things just have their moment.

@apps looks like I cannot update a pixelfed profile image via the app though it thinks it has done so - it also thinks it can update a cover image which is not a thing on pixelfed as far as I can tell.

Wasn't there a place in the app where I could set the instance type (pixelfed, lemmy, mastodon, etc.)? I recall seeing it, but cannot find it anymore (search function for settings needed?).

"Navbar tools" in #quarto are super handy to display social media icons!

One minor drawback of moving to this solution: it relies on #Bootstrap icons, so there isn't one for #ORCID yet, whereas there was one when I used Font Awesome. #FeatureRequest time?

So you don't have to scroll past more than three individual posts of any thread. If you want to see the full thread, you click.

What I notice in Mastodon is that I have to scroll past ALL THE POSTS, like when the historian makes her daily 20-plus-post threads. Makes me want to close the app.

Another masto #featurerequest that I don’t know if it will ever happen or not, but one thing I miss from twitter is being notified when someone likes or reposts one of my reposts/reblogs, it feels good to know someone else enjoyed seeing the same thing I saw.

Right now, the only way to do so is bookmarking a user's post, but I'd much prefer an address book with names, profile pics and a custom note option, which I can pin as a column in the mastodon UI, ideally with an 'Include user bio' option.

For folks on a selfhosted server like me, 99.99% of my follows and followers are on another instance. It would be cool for anyone but especially for tiny instance people, to see stats on our profile page (private or public) that showed where our people were coming from.
