Juan Manuel Sánchez Gordillo was born #OTD in 1952. Since his late 20s, he has been the mayor of Marinaleda, Spain, where he helped collectivize land and ensure almost-full employment. He became internationally known for his direct-action approach to the fallout of the 2008 financial crisis, participating in a series of supermarket robberies in nearby towns to help feed the poor.
